Shorter drivers – not longer – for most golfers will produce more distance and more fairways hit!

“New Technology” for Longer and Straighter Drives!

Scott Stallings – the pride of the Oak Ridge Country Club where I play golf – has won twice on the PGA tour in his first two years.  The January issue of Golf Digest features his golf clubs in their monthly "What's In The Bag" article.  In the 2012 season he averaged 304 yards in driving distance – 17th on tour.  And the Golf Digest article pointed out that he plays a 43-3/4 inch long driver.  QUITE a bit shorter than the 45-1/2 and 46 inch drivers that are typically being sold in golf stores for all of us to play with.  The average driver length on the PGA tour continues to be about 44-1/2 inches long.

Shorter than "standard" drivers allow most golfers to have more center clubface hits.  Longer drivers do not in general fit the athletic posture for most golfers.  Well, I and many others have said these things before.

But this weekend I wondered – what if "The Ghost of Golfers Past" visited one of the CEOs of the major golf club companies, and helped them to decide to implement a "new technology" to help many golfers hit the ball farther and straighter.  Maybe the add for this new technology might look like this:

We Learned From the PGA Tour Players:

Revolutionary New Driver Technology Produces

Longer and Straighter Drives, Lower Scores,

And MORE GOLFING ENJOYMENT!

Through exhaustive Launch Monitor testing with the best players in the world, we discovered a new approach to helping all golfers achieve their golfing dreams!  Most golfers on the PGA tour play drivers that, on average, have a length of 44-1/2 inches.  We have discovered that this length driver will give YOU more consistent center-faced hits – resulting in more distance and more fairways hit!!  The overall result – you see the ball FLY past your golfing opponents, shoot lower scores, and enjoy the game more.

Our Year-Long testing also showed that adding weight to the driver head actually helps golfers feel the head more, again assisting them to achieve center-faced hits and more distance.

It is time that you discovered this new driving technology – Play Drivers Just Like The PGA Tour Players Play!!

This change would revolutionize the golfing industry from the standpoint of helping golfers play better golf.  If the "standard" driver length was 44-1/2 inches and these drivers had an appropriate weighting for that length, more and more golfers would get the joy of feeling the golf ball hitting the center of the face, of watching it travel far and straight, and of playing the golf of their dreams.  And if some golfers needed drivers that are even a bit shorter than this "standard" – well, it would be much easier to accomodate that change.

Come On Ghost Guy – we need you!!

(my driver length, by the way, is 44-1/4 inches…..)

Let us know about YOUR personal success with playing a shorter driver!

The Fit Is IT!!
