Learn about true custom club fitting from Roy Nix – the "Cracker Jack Clubfitter!"

It is sad to me – for golfers who do not know better – when I see golf club sales informattion that talks about "golfers having a custom club fitting but they do not get clubs that are at the specs they are tested with" or suggesting that you "buy golf clubs with these custom shaft options."

Yes it is true that golfers the clubs golfers get from a fitting should be precisely what they have been tested with – BUT to me that means that they have NOT been custom fit.  You have not had a "custom fitting" when the clubs are not delivered with the specs that resulted from the testing.  And the only thing about a set of shafts that you can order as "custom" is that you got to pick them – and picking them for yourself does not mean that the clubs you get will provide optimum performance for your golf game.

Well, Roy Nix from McNix Golf in Columbia, GA does not operate that way.  When he does a custom fitting his fittings are purely based on what clubs will perform the best for you.  And he delivers clubs that have the exact specs that provided superior performance in the fitting. THAT is Custom Fitting!

Roy is the founder of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP), one of the Golf Digest Top 100 Club Fitters in the U.S., and luckily for me a mentor and friend.  He just published an Amazon Kindle book that discusses his road to becoming a top custom club fitter, and also discusses what golfers should expect from a true custom fitting.  It is an easy read, but that does not mean there there is not depth to the topics that are discussed in the book.  He wants golfers to learn about "what they do not know about what they do not know" about custom fitting.  If you want to learn more about custom club fitting – from one of the best – buy this book!
