I hope that at least a few of you readers are surprised that there is no podcast today. Well, get ready though – next week you will get to listen to my Podcast Interview with Adam Young, author of a terrific golf improvement book The Practice Manual. We had to delay doing the interview until this Saturday, and it will be live next Monday morning. You will NOT want to miss this one!
My next "Coming Soon" relates to the above picture. It is a new driver test head I have added to my fitting system – the Wishon 919 F/D Fairway Driver. Ever since a local college player told me she had gained 20 yards hitting the TaylorMade Mini Driver, I have wanted to have a reason to add this Wishon driver head to my fitting system. The Wishon head is 260 cc, a little over half the size of today's normal titanium driver heads, but still bigger than a standard fairway wood head. The head in the picture has 15 degrees of loft, and I see this as a potential fitting option for females who are not comfortable hitting a large-head driver, but who like to hit fairway woods. I have a fitting with a female golfer this week, and I am excited to see how this head performs for her. It is actually available in lofts from about 11 degrees up to about 15 degrees. We will see!
Finally – I had fun watching the end of the PGA yesterday, and loved hearing that Jason Day said that all of his past failures in majors prepared him for the success he had yesterday. YES!
