Recently I reviewed some data on “custom” driver fitting results.  The data in the information included a number of fitting results that were in my view less than optimum and less that You Deserve from True Custom Clubfitting.  If you are being fit for a driver that is optimized for your game, you DESERVE to be achieving these results:

1.  Anyone being custom fit for a driver should expect to – with that driver – carry the ball somewhere close to 2.5 times their swing speed.  This means that, for example, if your swing speed is 80 mph your optimum carry distance should be very close to 200 yards.  Now – if you carry your drives in the range of 20 yards less than this optimum distance – You Deserve Better!

2.  Anyone being fit for a driver that is to provide optimum results should expect their driving results – as measured with a launch monitor – to produce Power Transfer Ratios – PTR = (ball speed / swing speed) – of at least 1.45 and if possible in the range of 1.48.  If the PTRs from your driver data are a lot less than 1.45 – say in the range of 1.40 – that driver is Not Giving You Optimum Results.

Hopefully those of you reading this blog post now will be “armed” with this information.  The good news is that, for all of us, there is equipment – and True Custom Club Fitters – available to help you achieve these optimum Ball Carry and PTR results.  The “ball” is in your court!!

The Fit Is IT!!
