Tomorrow I head south for my yearly trip to Columbus, Georgia to attend the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP) Roundtable 6 event. Four days of total emersion into all things clubfitting. I can truthfully say that way more than 75% of the most valuable precision clubfitting and clubbuilding information that I have learned has come from attending this yearly Roundtable (this is year 4 for me). Any success I have as a professional clubfitter comes largely from participating in the AGCP.
This year as always we will start with overeating on Tuesday evening, sponsored by Master Clubfitter Bill Marshall. Then a demo day on Wednesday morning where major AGCP sponsors show us some of their products. Wednesday afternoon will be a session on how to use a “Blueprint” method to Frequency Match and MOI Match golf clubs at the same time, with hands on instruction for attendees. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will focus on an introduction to using the K-Vest 3D motion system, LOTS of time spent on how to better connect club fitting and attention to the golf swing, some presentations on improving business management and marketing for clubfitters (with one presentation being made by yours truly!), and presentations from some of the major AGCP sponsors.
During the entire Roundtable, there are Sponsor booths where all of us can learn in more depth about sponsor products.
One of the things I look the most forward to is that many of us get together at night at the hotel and ask questions of each other and listen to the best of the best help all of us get better.
The AGCP Roundtable 6 – even better than getting my first iPhone tonight!
The Fit Is IT!!
