4 Reasons AGCP Clubfitters deliver lower scores and more golfing fun!
There is a growing appreciation by golfers that custom club fitting can help them play great golf – the type of golf they always hoped they could play. Golf Digest has publicized a group of the top clubfitters in the U.S. in 2011 and 2013. Demo Days for new OEM clubs now also feature launch monitor "fitting" as part of hitting the clubs. And just about every golf store that carries OEM clubs has a hitting bay that includes some type of launch monitor testing for golfers.
All of this interest in clubfitting should be something that is good news for you – assuming you can get the type of fitting results that you deserve. Below, I present 4 reasons why clubfitters who are members of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals – AGCP – are trained and equipped to help you achieve the golfing results you need:
Clubfitting Knowledge. EVERY AGCP clubfitter goes through at MINIMUM of 100 hours of training – each and every year – designed to help them improve their fitting skills. As AGCP members, we are on a daily forum where we ask clubfitting questions to each other – and get answers from some of the top fitters in the world. Conservatively, each AGCP member spends as much as 30 minutes or more each day – and so a MINIMUM of 100 hours a year – improving their skills through the AGCP Forum. And this does not count time spent at the Annual AGCP Roundtable meeting each October.
Clubfitting Certification. AGCP Fitters each participate in a Certification Program where they can be certified at different levels of clubfitting expertise. There are more than 10 levels of clubfitting certification that members can apply for, depending on their experience and expertise. Click here for AGCP Certification levels.
Club Building Expertise. It is one thing to go through a clubfitting – but when you do, do you KNOW that the clubs you get are built to the specs that really fit you? AGCP fitters are also precision club builders – they are knowledgeable in how to build clubs to the precise specifications that were identified in the fitting.
Delivering Results. If you go into a "big box" store and are are fit for a set of golf clubs, what happens if they do not work as you expect – can you return them and get clubs that work, or can you get your money back? Many AGCP fitters provide a guarantee that they clubs they build for you will provide the results that you anticipate and deserve. And if they do not, they will either redo the fitting and rebuild the set to get you the results, or give you your money back.
SO – you want to be fit by someone with Certified Clubfitting Expertise, who will Build Your Clubs to Precise Fitting Specifications, and Who Guarantee Results?
My advice is to find an AGCP clubfitter to help you play your best golf. Here is a link to the AGCP Locator Page so that you can find a qualified fitter in your area!
