Last week I wrote my August Clubfitting newsletter (about to get past ones archived on my web site!) and as part of that I found a Truly excellent video that describes the “Ball Flight Laws” – what actually causes the golf ball to travel in the nine possible flight patterns it can have:

Pull Hook, Pull, Pull Slice, Draw, Straight, Fade, Push Hook, Push, Push Slice

Thanks to John Dunigan, PGA Master Professional, for producing this video.

I have watched this video again a number of times since I posted it and found value each time.  So…..I thought for those who do not get my newsletter that it would be valuable to provide the YouTube link to this video again:

Ball Flight Law YouTube Video

As you will see when you view this video, there are two major keys to understanding what makes a golf ball travel in one of these nine flight patterns:

1.  The direction that the face is pointed at impact is Largely the starting direction of the golf ball, and

2.  The Gap between the Golf Swing Path and the Club Face Angle at impact is what causes the severity of the magnitude of a slice or hook.

ENJOY!!
