Think about your golfing dreams – and then what it would take to achieve them!

Your Golf Dreams!

Last night a good golfing friend, who lives out of state, asked me about purchasing a new set of irons.  Part of me thought why, since he has a pretty good iron game.  But then I thought about the parallel with Rory McElroy – #1 player in the world and he is about to change from Titleist to Nike golf clubs.  Is this change purely about money, or is there more to it than that?

My web site includes a Personal Golf Club Evaluation form that is – I believe – one of the important elements of helping golfers obtain value from custom club fitting.  But recently I have wondered if something is missing on that form.  It includes things like evaluation of how a golfer's driver performs, what clubs he/she hits best or worst, etc.  But nothing about a golfers dreams and aspirations for his or her golf game.

Well now it does – here is a screen shot of the new question I added to the form today:

We all have dreams about how we would love to perform on the golf course.  Whether we are 15 years old, 45 years old, 75 years old.  Maybe we do not think about them specifically all of the time, but it is my belief that they are there.  And the more we can pay attention to what these dreams are, the more we can drive ourselves, or are driven, to achieve these dreams.

My golfing dreams?  Well, I think they come down to being able to Feel Confident About Hitting Each Golf Shot I am confronted with on the golf course.  And this year, more than any other than I can remember, I have had times when I felt that way playing.

Why not treat yourself to truly thinking about what your dreams and aspirations are for when you are on the golf course – you deserve it!

What is one wonderful golfing dream that you thought of and then achieved? – please comment.

The Fit Is IT!!
